BABY NOAH HAS ARRIVED!!!!!
Mood:  amorous
Our baby Noah arrived Thursday, March 31st at 4:56 p.m. in Mount Sinai hospital, NYC. He weighed in at 5 lbs and 4 oz., 18 and 3/4 long, and was delivered by c-section at 37 weeks. OK, I'm his mom, here comes the gushing: He's the cutest little thing! He has the sweetest little pink lips and he has my straight black hair, big brown eyes with long eyelashes. I'm so in love with him. Being that he was born 2 weeks early, he's a little on the small side but I know he'll catch up soon. He is so quiet, crying only when hungry. He makes the funniest faces and he's always sleeping! Although I guess it'll only be for the first few months like this.

The c-section was kind of what I expected it would be like. I had spinal anesthesia, made me numb from my waist down. I was nervous as hell, but the anesthesiologist was right by my side telling me everything that was going on and being funny and warm. He made feel really relaxed! My hubby was on my other side with a camera in his hands and stars in his eyes, just waiting for his boy to be born. I felt nothing until towards the end when they were trying to take him out. They were pressing my chest bone down as if doing cpr. That kind of freaked me out, but the anesthesiologist said they were moving the baby down because they were ready to take him out. It was an exciting moment when they said, "Here he comes!". I felt left out because I was the only one confined to this surgery table and everyone else was looking at Noah saying, "Oh my God! Look how long his eyelashes are!" I wanted to see too! Finally they wheeled me to the recovery room and handed me my sweet baby. Wasn't too long though when they took him away to the nursery. I stayed 3 days in the hospital and they wanted me to stay 4 but I refused because I wanted to be in my own home in my own bed where I know I'll feel better and recover faster! Today I just got my staples removed, Thank God! They were so uncomfortable. I feel loads better today, though I still have to take it easy for the next couple of weeks. I will try to get some pictures of Noah up here though. It's been a long journey. My Baby Dreams have come true!!! I thank the readers who shared it with me. Don't worry though, I'll be back with a website of baby Noah growing up!

The Date is Set!
Mood:  celebratory
Well, the date is set for the c-section. March 31st! They said I have to be in the hospital by 7 a.m. The day before is my amnio. If the baby's lungs are mature, everything will proceed and they won't call me. But if his lungs are not mature, they'll call me and we'll have to schedule for a later time. But most likely he's ready. He's already 6 pounds! Hubby and I are guessing he'll be 6lbs and 5 oz. when he comes out. We are so excited and so ready! I can't believe the day is almost here. Our baby dreams are finally going to come true!

Amnio
Just got back from my 35th week appointment. My blood pressure is good (110/80) and I'm doing good on my diet so I won't need the insulin. Baby's heartbeat was good also. BUT...because I have that big old myomectomy scar from a previous surgery they're saying there's a risk that it might open. That's not good for the baby. So, we're going to do an amnio next week to see if the baby's lungs are mature enough and they'll go ahead and do a c-section around the 37th or 38th week. Even more earlier than I thought! We didn't want to do an amnio in the first or second trimester because of the risk of miscarriage, but now that I'm going to be 36 weeks they said the risk is very minimal. Only thing that can happen is an infection or that I'll go into labor. Since I'll be in the hospital, they said they can rush me to labor & delivery right away.
I'm kind of nervous about it. But if it means delivering the baby safely I'm all for it. I could wait until the 39th week and hope that my uterus won't rupture, but that's a bigger risk. Please pray that everything will turn out good!
