Noah is 1 month today!!!
Mood:  chillin'
Topic: Birthdays
My baby is 1 month today! I can't believe how fast that went. He's getting bigger and cuter each day. He's still sleeping through the day and at night he's being fussy beacuse of gas problems. We see the doctor on Tuesday so we're going to ask about that and also he's got a little bit of oral thrush. I suspect he got it through my breast milk while I was taking antibiotics. It was worse but it cleared up alot on it's own. I think Noah is 8 lbs and couple of ounces. He's getting heavy! I have to start practicing using the carrier that we bought. In the meantime, still no sleep for me. I'm also trying to get back to my lowcarb diet and exercise plan. Summer is almost here and I know I won't fit into a bikini this year but at least get down to where I was before I got pregnant. I want to feel good again! And look good!

Daddy's Boy
Mood:  cool
The baby is looking more and more like his father everyday! He has only 2 things from me, my straight brown hair and my nose. From his father: his eyes, hair line, head shape, chin, neck, cheeks. The ears we can't tell yet. we think he'll have his father's slim build but he'll be much taller. His fingers and toes are so long, and his legs so skinny! On hubby's side of the family they have some very tall people: his uncles, cousins and his grandfather (whom hubby got his nose from) is VERY tall (6 ft +?). Hubby is very proud of his boy. He can't wait to teach him chess!

Walking Zombie
Mood:  a-ok
Noah is now 24 days old. He sleeps during the day alot and during the night he wakes up for milk every 2 hours. Everyone is telling me this will last until he's 3 months old, then he'll sleep longer during the night. Hubby helps sometimes during the night but most of the time it's me getting up to feed the baby. I understand hubby is so tired because he has to get up at 4:40 a.m. to get ready for work. It's been hard but I think we're adjusting ok. I try to do the most that I can (like cleaning, laundry, dishes, showering) when the baby is sleeping. I have to say I hate pumping my breastmilk every few hours. I want to give it up, but hubby is telling me to hang in there for a couple of more months. I know it's good for the baby and that's why I'm doing my best, but it's not easy. I keep telling hubby he'll be a woman in the next life so that he can see how it feels to go through all this!

Doctor's appointment
Mood:  a-ok
Noah is healthy. Thank God. He's now 7 pounds and 20 inches long. We asked the doctor about his gas problems and she said it was perfectly normal. She said we shouldn't switch formulas without consulting a doctor first. She said to go back to the Enfamil with Lipil, that the Alimentum is for babys that are colicky. Well we did go back to the Enfamil and again he seems to be having more gas than usual. My sister says maybe it because I'm giving breast milk and formula. She said stick to one. Well, I would love to but sometimes I don't make enough breast milk, that's why I have the formula too. I just hope this is just temporary and that his digestive system gets normal. Well, I feel better knowing that he is gaining weight and he's looking healthy.

Not Easy
Mood:  irritated
These past few weeks has not been easy. Noah sleeps during the day and wakes up alot at night. Then I have to pump my milk every 3-4 hours, feed the baby, change diapers, make sure he's ok. We're worried about him because he has alot of gas pains. We switched baby formula, bought infant gas drops, burp him like crazy, and still nothing works. I told my hubby to buy gripe water today, I hear it works wonders, so we're trying that next. Tomorrow we go to the doctor around our area for the first time. I hope they're good. Noah also seems to have a little eye infection in his left eye. Hubby says he noticed that eye was leaking alot since he was born. We'll see what the doctor says. Well hopefully the baby will start to have longer sleeping periods during the night and I'll be able to sleep again. The good news is I already lost alot of the prenancy weight! No time to eat! Lol! Just 11 pounds and I'll be the weight I was before pregnancy. Oh yeah, today was Noah's due date.

No sleep for new mom
Mood:  don't ask
I haven't slept since I got back from the hospital. Noah is now 2 weeks and 1 day old. He is getting bigger and gaining weight. He must be close to 7 lbs now. We take him to the doctor this coming Tuesday for a checkup. In the meantime I've had to heal pretty quickly from my c-section because there is no one else around to help. So I'm very exhausted, but still very happy to have my baby. Lately I think he's going through his first growth spurt because he can't seem to get enough milk! He's also been very cranky but I think that's because of gas problems. We bought the Mylicon drops for that but want to ask the doctor first before giving it to him. This weekend is going to be beautiful and warm so we'll take him out for a nice walk and get some sunshine.

I'm so in love!!
Mood:  happy
Noah is sleeping on my chest right now while I'm writing this. He is so small, yet he's growing everyday. Today he put his tiny right thumb in his mouth and started sucking it. He was hungry. And when I placed him on his stomach for his daily exercise, he lifted his little head all the way! My baby is growing up, lol!!
I'm healing pretty good. Just my breasts are sore from using the pump everyday. But I do want to continue giving him breastmilk. My stomach is shrinking as each day passes by, thank God, but where they did the c-section on the bikini line is still swollen. I know that one is going to take several weeks to heal. And I didn't even get a chance to rest. No one is here to help me, hubby has to work all day. But I know the first couple of months will be like this. In the mean time I'm enjoying my baby Noah's funny faces and watching him sleep like an angel, when he dreams he smiles the sweetest smile. I also love how he cries, it's very soft almost not a cry at all. Like a baby goat, lol! I don't know if it'll get stronger and louder or if it will remain like that. Time will only tell. I think he's looking like my hubby as each day passes by. He's 1 week and 1 day old today.
